So, it has nothing to do with your online status. This plug seems to sound good, and it's at a good price, too. Winebottler makes a few different folders and by default I think it's the wine folder when you try to save the.

Had to install 2 expansions manually if I remember right, but all worked afterward. It was some work though and had to type every key by hand. TURN IT INTO A SONG TALK TO YOUR DRUMMER EMBELLISH YOUR SOUND Done with your track?

You do however require a way to access the registration site to generate the response code, which can then be typed in the appropriate box in the program interface. Therefore DO NOT authorize EZdrummer when your network is up if your workstation is intended to be used disconnected from the Internet and LAN. If you want or need to generate the response code from this same computer you can do so but you will need to disconnect from the Internet before the code is identified as valid. You mean, if I authorize the plug at home, where I am always online, then I can't take the machine to a gig, where I'm never online?!? Or if my internet connection goes out, then I can't use EZ Drummer?!?!? I can only PRAY that I am being completely nutters and missing the entire idea here....?!? Thanks for clearing this up for me:. I authorized my copy of EZdrummer while connected to the internet and when I wanted to upgrade to a new version 1. Also firing it up in Cubase while offline caused the autorization window to pop up for some time. Honestly, I don't know how I've solved the problem I think I just re-entered my old authorization number again but the plug luckily doesn't behave like that anymore. I still keep thinking I must be confused somehow -- really -- so PLEASE correct me, guys, if I've gotten this all wrong. For crying out loud -- my internet connection goes out, for example, and I can't use EZ Drummer?!?? Or what -- I'm supposed to authorize while offline, and then shut off my internet everytime I fire up EZ Drummer?!? I've been waiting for a great, ready-to-go multi-sampled drum plug for YEARS -- I really have -- I keep hoping Spectrasonics will release one, by the way, but I doubt they will. This plug seems to sound good, and it's at a good price, too. I'll pass -- and hope they change that soon. I have NEVER heard of a plug that includes network-connection status as a determinant in authorization. They honestly need to change that little feature a. We've got ENOUGH draconian copy-protection crap already to start adding a new one. The Authorization scheme is among things, I'm not a programmer, so I'm cutting it short built around the machine configuration. Some users prefer to disable the network interface card while working with audio and then enable it when they need to access the Internet. If you never disable your NIC, you have no 'worries'. If you do and need to be able to run EZ Drummer with both NIC enabled and disabled, you simply generate two separate machine IDs and Authorize both. So, it has nothing to do with your online status. Hope to see you as a happy EZ Drummer customer. This is done by entering a generated computer ID number along with the provided serial number found on the back of the CD case. How often have I disabled my network card? I guess some people do, obviously -- THOSE are the people who will have issues. People make drummer jokes all the time, perhaps it's time to make jokes about software drummers... Q: How many software drummers does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A: None, They're not authorized to... Q: How many megabytes does a drum sample library use? A: 1 meg for the sample of the log the monkey bashes and 650 megs for the copy protection. Darren PS I'm a drummer Hi - I appreciate the humorous tone, I guess you have been on the end of one too many dubious drummer jokes. I hesitate to say it's a good excuse to take a cheap shot at people that, despite what you might think, are not trying to make drummers redundant ;- Anyway as per John's reply the NIC is part of the configuration that is taken into account. If your system stealths the hardware when you take the workstation offline, as XP does, it's hardly surprising that it appears to be a different one. In reply to the very pertinent comment that the scheme could have been independent from NIC that is absolutely correct but this has other drawbacks. Trying to roll a ghost backup of your hard drive should convince you that this is indeed a very valid alternative to HD fingerprinting... I just wanted to come and reassure all that, as much as copy protection are an hindrance but a necessary evil , EZdrummer's scheme is as unintrusive as possible. More to the point it will not let you down in crisis scenario unlike most challenge response system and without the cost inherent to hardware key. In conclusion there seem to be a lot of concerns about this rare - one time only - double authorization required for a minority of users yet, by definition, few occurrences of this PC only issue. While I'm sure there will be plenty to argue on the subject I can guarantee that no actual EZdrummer user will come and post a testimony of the Apocalypse described in the theoretical discussion that may ensue. Thank you for your support. Best Regards, Rogue Marechal Toontrack Music i HAVE A BIG PROBLEM!!! While I'm sure there will be plenty to argue on the subject I can guarantee that no actual EZdrummer user will come and post a testimony of the Apocalypse described in the theoretical discussion that may ensue... Nevertheless, you're apt to scare off any potential future users with such a cumbersome scheme. I won't purchase anything that requires a dongle either. Thanks to the OP for the heads-up on this. Hope to see you as a happy EZ Drummer customer. Best Regards, John I feel the urge to jump in on this one, as the original post-er. I'll begin by saying that since the time of this thread Sept of 2006! I have also bought Superior Drummer 2. That says a LOT about how I feel, and how my questions were answered in this thread and at the Toontrack forums. If you are turning the card on and off, just use TWO of those authorize it once with NIC on, once with it off , and then you're good to go either way. I would suspect there aren't that many in this situation of turning their NIC on and off all the time of course, the ones who do it -- mostly people on laptops, I guess -- will protest that there are LOTS of people who do it. But I would bet there aren't really that many. But if you fall into that camp, well, it's not so much trouble to authorize it twice. For me, I think it's not so intrusive a scheme as to be a deal-breaker. I worry about all of the stuff I have deprnding upon dongles, licenses, upgrade patches. I use a ton of the older EW products like the choirs etc. I wonder if my machine went down would I be able to rebuild a new one with the same programs, patches, etc. Since EW moved on to Play, and I am not interested in updating to the Play interface, I might not be able to find the updated software patches online for the older versions. I think Toontrack has missed the boat on this form of protection. Isn't it enough to have us register and put in the serial number etc. Now Easydrummer will not work if you are not online etc. As always the honest guys pay the price. I've had the same software on 3 consecutive computers, with no problems at all. You are backing up your current installations and custom presets etc. First you should be storing and backing up any patches you might need anyway. Updates for the NI related stuff is still available from NI. I have nearly all the Play products, library updates are available from the web site, and Play updates are issued regularly as well. Isn't it enough to have us register and put in the serial number etc. Now Easydrummer will not work if you are not online etc. I also own and use nearly all the Toontrack products, and EZDrummer and some of the EZXs have also been installed on three consecutives machines without any licencing problems at all. It was simply a matter of deactivating a licence for a machine that was no longer used, and getting a new activation code. I've never had a single problem doing that. Also the folks at Toontracks are some of the best when it comes to customer support, and always have been more than willing to help customers with legitimate problems. If someone is having a problem for any reason, why not contact them or visit the Toontrack forum?................. Isn't it enough to have us register and put in the serial number etc. Now Easydrummer will not work if you are not online etc. As always the honest guys pay the price. Darren Yeah -- see, the thing is, that was exactly my original question OVER 2 YEARS AGO when I started this thread. It seems crazy right? It depends on whether you have your NIC enabled or disabled -- and if you switch back and forth between enabling and disabling your NIC for some reason, then you just have to authorize the plug twice on that machine if you want it to be usable in both configurations. It's LITERALLY just a few clicks to do that. I think that's stated clearly if you read the whole thread -- but since this thread has been revived by someone posting an utterly and completely non-related question to a 2-year-old topic , I can understand how someone might come here and somehow miss the facts. I hope no more.

Until yesterday maybe the day before, didn't try opening EZDbut difference on the 14th of july my version was to be authorized once again. A detailed walkthrough of how to authorize your EZdrummer 2. AND YOU READY TO GO. I think the order was install, patch, delete aax, then authorize. Isn't it enough to have us register and put in the autobus number etc. Use serial number generatorApr 2, 2016 Download Toontrack EZdrummer 2 v2 0 2 Update Incl Patch and Run the update choose the appropriate 32-bit or 64-bit. Mike shows you EZdrummer in a songwriting situation. U remove the asterisk. This usually means your software download includes a serial number of some sort.
